The 467-horsepower*, 5.0-liter V8 in the RC F is unmatched among its peers. It is the largest engine in its class,* and it’s the only naturally aspirated one among them too. This is all the more impressive when you consider that its Atkinson-cycle capability is also engineered to deliver efficiency. Among its innovative components are lightweight titanium valves that are paired with high-strength, forged connecting rods. And it emits a throaty, specially tuned engine sound throughout its impressive 7,300-rpm range.
With a low-profile coupe body style, the RC F is engineered to conquer the road as well as the race circuit.
Putting added control into the hands of the driver, the RC F features two advanced handling systems: a standard TORSEN® limited-slip differential* that pushes power to the rear wheel with the most grip, and an available Lexus-first rear Torque Vectoring Differential that dynamically distributes more torque to the outside rear wheel to help rotate the vehicle through the turn while also helping you hold your line with unprecedented precision.
For dynamic performance on and off the track, the eight-speed Sport Direct-Shift transmission offers manual control through large, steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters. Precisely positioned for faster gear changes, they deliver split-second upshifts and nearly seamless downshifts. And, in automatic mode, the transmission's AI Shift Control features a G-sensor that detects when the RC F enters a curve, and holds the lower gear throughout for optimal response when accelerating out.
Reining back such a high-performance machine lap after lap requires serious stopping power. Get the control you crave, thanks to the huge 14.9-inch front brake rotors clamped by massive six-piston aluminum monoblock Brembo calipers,* and 13.5-inch rear rotors with four-piston calipers. Featuring high-friction pads* as well as a fast-cooling slotted rotor design for reduced brake fade, the RC F makes stopping almost as exciting as going. Almost.
F-ADAPTIVE VARIABLE SUSPENSION (F-AVS)
Allowing the driver to harness the engine’s power and communicate with the pavement like never before, F-Adaptive Variable Suspension, featuring 30 levels of damping, can stiffen for enhanced response based on the selected drive mode. The first-ever linear-solenoid monotube shocks not only improve body roll and stability when cornering, but also offer improved ride quality. With a motorsport-derived design, the system switches damping force four times faster than previous AVS systems, ensuring the driver has unprecedented levels of control.
